Job summary

Farm Job Search is seeking a Herd Manager / Head Herdsman for a 1200-cow dairy in Southern Minnesota. The role involves reproduction work, breeding, and ultrasound preg checks, with supervision of staff and collaboration with management. Housing and health benefits are provided, and overtime applies after 40 hours.

Knowledge of DHI+ software is preferred, and dairy Spanish is a plus for communication with team and veterinarians.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform reproduction work, breeding and ultrasound pregnancy checks.
• Experience supervising other employees is required.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a 1200-cow dairy herd and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Perform reproduction tasks, breeding, and ultrasound pregnancy checks.
• Supervise and coordinate dairy staff and schedule.
• Maintain herd records and ensure animal welfare and productivity.
