Job summary

Delaware Department of Justice seeks five Deputy Attorney General V (DAG) positions in the Misdemeanor Trial Units across New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties. DAGs will appear in JP Court, Court of Common Pleas, and Superior Court handling detention hearings and misdemeanor cases while coordinating with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Handle detention hearings in the Justice system across multiple courts.
• Review case materials and draft legal arguments for hearings.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and other criminal justice partners.
• Manage a misdemeanor caseload and determine appropriate resolutions.
• Negotiate plea offers and try cases not resolved at pre-trial stages.
