The US Department of Veterans Affairs, VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) in Dallas, Bonham, and Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a Cytotechnologist GS-11 to perform highly complex laboratory diagnostics in cytopathology within Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service.

Applicants with pending education or certification may be referred but cannot be hired until all requirements are met, including a baccalaureate degree, accredited cytotechnology program, and ASCP CT/SCT certification.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required; English proficiency must be demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform smear preparation, slide fixation, cell block prep, monolayer filtration and staining.

Education

Bachelor's degree from regionally accredited college/university

CAAHEP/ACGME-accredited cytotechnology program

ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) or SCT certification

Foreign education evaluation (if applicable)
