Job summary

VMD Corp, now part of Xcelerate Solutions, is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to deliver security and compliance leadership across multiple IT programs. You will guide A&A processes, assess current postures, track vulnerabilities, and drive remediation plans.

Responsibilities include leading risk assessments per federal guidelines, developing RMF control documentation, and reporting risks to executives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity and compliance experience.
• Active CISSP or CISM certification required.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across stakeholders.
• Ability to define methods and procedures independently.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and control guidance.
• Strong written communication and customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate and lead meetings to review and assess compliance of systems and technology.
• Perform risk assessments based on Federal guidelines and industry best practices.
• Assist teams in identifying vulnerabilities and providing recommendations to reduce cybersecurity risk.
• Create and mature RMF control-specific procedures and documentation.
• Articulate and report on cybersecurity risk and compliance to executives.
• Develop remediation plans and POA&Ms; monitor progress and closure of findings.
• Support remediation of POA&Ms by analyzing weaknesses and coordinating actions.
• Author A&A documentation to support system authorization.
• Improve cybersecurity risk assessment and POA&M processes across programs.
• Aggregate and track POA&Ms and risks across projects and teams.
• Respond to and triage security incidents as part of the incident response team.
• Communicate cybersecurity best practices based on policies and controls.
