Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to safeguard information assets, systems, and cloud environments. You will administer Microsoft Purview, Defender, Entra ID, and data protection policies while coordinating incident response, vulnerability management, and data governance.

You will collaborate with IT, Legal, HR, Compliance, and business stakeholders to protect information and enable secure business operations. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security & compliance technologies, including Purview.
• Experience with DLP, data classification, sensitivity labels, information protection, records management or eDiscovery.
• Incident response, security investigations, identity and access management, and vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, cloud security, and security monitoring technologies.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, audits, and security control documentation.
• Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, alerts, and threats.
• Lead incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
• Coordinate vulnerability assessments and patch-management follow-up.
• Administer Microsoft Purview and Data Protection policies across the enterprise.
• Manage Entra ID, Defender, and Microsoft Defender cloud/app security configurations.
• Support risk assessments, compliance reviews, and internal/external audits.
• Develop cybersecurity awareness and collaborate with IT, Legal, HR, and business teams.
