Job summary

Peraton Labs seeks a self-motivated Principal Research Scientist to lead and deliver cybersecurity research programs. You will drive prototypes, interact with customers, and shape research directions across multiple domains, delivering cutting-edge solutions while mentoring a team of researchers.

Ideal candidates have a PhD, a strong research track record, and experience in developing and proposing DoD/IC opportunities; U.S. citizenship and Top Secret/SCI eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• PhD plus a long track record in cybersecurity, networking, communications, hardware or systems.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.
• Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in new subject areas and lead research.
• Experience in technical marketing, business development and writing winning DoD/IC proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead or guide a team of researchers to design, prototype, test and demonstrate cybersecurity solutions.
• Interact with customers to understand needs and present results; develop proposals addressing customer needs.
• Provide leadership for executing research programs and articulating directions for a broad set of problems.
• Develop and deliver prototype software concepts and solutions based on customer needs.
