Job summary

LMI Government Consulting is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Army Capability Program Executive (CPE) Ground Office at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. The ISSE will drive RMF/ATO activities for software and hardware cybersecurity across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.

Active SECRET clearance is required, and onsite presence at Ft. Belvoir is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, CS, IS, data science, or software engineering from ABET-accredited or designated institution.
• 5+ years of hands-on system/security engineering experience with U.S. Government systems.
• Practical experience with government cloud platforms (Azure, GovCloud, etc.) for secure design/operations.
• Experience developing RMF documentation (SSPs, POAMs).
• Familiarity with DoD regulations, FedRAMP, and FISMA compliance.
• Certifications such as GISF, Security+, CASP+, CSSP, Cloud+, CSSLP, or GSEC; must obtain within 30 days if not held.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement system security requirements with engineers and program managers.
• Lead continuous monitoring and verification of cybersecurity requirements.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance to government stakeholders and contractor teams.
• Design security architectures for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
• Support RMF processes to achieve and maintain ATO approvals.
• Develop and maintain SSPs and POAMs.
• Guide vulnerability mitigation using scanning tools and DoD policies.
• Develop dashboards to monitor platform controls, logs, and compliance.
