Job summary

Cubic Digital Intelligence is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the security engineering and authorization of a mission-focused system for a U.S. Government customer. The successful candidate will lead cybersecurity compliance activities and work closely with customer security personnel, system engineers, and program leadership to help obtain and maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO).

This position is contingent upon contract award, funding, and customer approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity, information-assurance, or security-engineering experience.
• Experience supporting ATO packages and the federal RMF.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity engineering and RMF activities supporting system authorization.
• Develop, review, and maintain security plans, control implementations, risk assessments, and authorization artifacts.
• Coordinate with customer authorizing officials, security representatives, system owners, and engineering teams.
• Assess system designs and configurations against government security requirements.
• Guide implementation and documentation of security controls.
• Perform security-control assessments, vulnerability reviews, and risk analysis.
• Track findings and milestones through closure.
• Support system hardening, secure configuration, access control, auditing, and monitoring.
• Evaluate proposed system changes for cybersecurity and authorization impacts.
• Prepare for security reviews and authorization meetings.
• Translate cybersecurity requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
• Communicate security risks and recommendations to leadership.
• Support ongoing compliance after ATO approval.
