Job summary

PEMCCO is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, assess, and maintain cybersecurity capabilities that protect government information systems, networks, applications, and data. This role focuses on security engineering, risk management, compliance, vulnerability management, and strengthening security posture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Ten or more years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related fields
• Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST standards, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Experience with security architecture, engineering, and system security concepts

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions for information systems, networks, and applications
• Lead cybersecurity engineering efforts supporting system development, modernization, and sustainment
• Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security control evaluations
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and security findings
• Support RMF and A&A activities
• Review system architectures to ensure cybersecurity compliance
• Develop and maintain SSPs, SARs, and POA&Ms
• Support continuous monitoring and evaluate security controls
• Investigate cybersecurity incidents and support remediation
• Coordinate with stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements throughout the lifecycle
• Evaluate emerging threats and recommend improvements
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for leadership
• Provide mentorship to junior cybersecurity personnel
