Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a network security engineer to support firewall management, VPN deployment, and vulnerability mitigation. You will implement automation with Ansible and Python, analyze data, and contribute to threat detection strategies.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, Linux proficiency, and cloud services experience, with Cisco and Palo Alto certifications considered a plus. On-site work near Marietta, GA is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support firewall lifecycle management, including installing, configuring, decommissioning devices, and migrating application traffic behind firewalls.
• Support GlobalProtect VPN efforts, including deploying new portals/gateways and troubleshooting machine certificate chain/authentication flows.
• Mitigate network security vulnerabilities and upgrade firewall software using automated solutions.
• Respond to and escalate incidents while supporting customers.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible and Python.
• Design automation workflows and capabilities for data collection, investigation, and incident response.
• Design, build, configure, maintain, and monitor cybersecurity threat defense capabilities and user access management.
• Participate in onsite testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities during project rollouts.

Requirements

• Candidates must be located within driving distance to the Marietta Technology Center (MTC) to support business needs
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in network and security engineering or operations
• Solid understanding of switching and routing
• Cisco Certification is a plus
• Solid understanding of Cyber Security
• Palo Alto Certification is a plus
• Solid understanding of VPN technology
• Hands on GlobalProtect VPN solution is a plus
• Hands on experience with Linux operating systems
• Hands on experience with programming language such as Ansible or Python
• Experience with cloud services (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is preferred
• Must be eighteen years of age or older
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline
