Gunnison Consulting Group in Washington, DC, is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and to implement and manage security controls. The role requires extensive hands-on experience and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

The position involves incident response, threat analysis, and continuous learning through training and conferences. A bachelor’s degree and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, ZTS, DLP, SIEM).
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Proficiency with scripting (Python/PowerShell) and multiple OS (Windows, Linux, macOS).

Responsabilités

• Perform vulnerability assessments and document findings.
• Analyze security logs and identify anomalies.
• Develop reports detailing risks and remediation.
• Design and deploy security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, ZTS, SIEM).
• Lead incident response and forensics activities.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and solutions.
