Job summary

Base-2 Solutions in Reston, VA is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer 3 to design, implement, and maintain security controls across networks, cloud, and applications. The role requires TS/SCI with CI Poly and 7+ years of experience.

You will collaborate with IT, development, and compliance teams to enforce policies, respond to incidents, and implement standards such as NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and FedRAMP. Strong Splunk logging andFortify/Acunetix/Prisma Cloud familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• 7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer with designing and building security controls.
• Experience with continuous monitoring and auditing for compliance.
• Strong skills in log collection and analysis using Splunk.
• Experience with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Experience securing cloud, container, and DevSecOps environments (IL5–IL6+).
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• CISSP or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and monitor security alerts to detect incidents.
• Develop and implement incident response plans and coordinate with teams.
• Enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across teams.
• Prepare reports on security findings, incidents, and actions taken.
• Integrate security into the software development lifecycle with IT and compliance.
