Job summary

Vaylent is seeking a senior security engineering professional reporting to the Chief Information Officer with platform-wide scope across all operating environments. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on identifying weaknesses, designing controls, implementing them and validating their effectiveness.

It is not a SOC analyst or a GRC or documentation role; you will own security requirements, architecture, standards, baselines, and technical validation in support of manufacturing and OT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Graduate degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead security engineering across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Defender, and Windows environments.
• Own vulnerability-management lifecycle from identification to remediation.
• Define secure configuration standards and hardening for Windows, Linux, and cloud services.
• Partner with 24x7 SOC/MDR provider for escalation and containment.
• Ensure security controls meet NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2.
• Secure integration of newly acquired companies, facilities, and networks.
