Citizens Financial Group is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Attorney to serve as a key legal advisor on cybersecurity, data security, incident response, technology risk, and related regulatory matters.

You will partner with Cyber Defense, Technology, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Communications, and senior leadership to provide practical, business-focused counsel and support Citizens’ operational resilience initiatives.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school (must be active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction).
• Six+ years of relevant legal experience in cybersecurity, data security, privacy, or technology law.
• Experience advising on cyber incident response, regulatory matters, and enforcement considerations.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity laws, regulatory guidance, and risk frameworks.
• Experience drafting and maintaining cybersecurity policies, incident-response procedures, and playbooks.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills for tech services, cloud, and third-party risk.

Aufgaben

• Provide strategic legal counsel on cybersecurity, data security, incident response, technology risk, and regulatory matters.
• Advise during cyber and data-security incidents, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and leadership.
• Guide on escalation, materiality assessments, regulatory notifications, and disclosures.
• Monitor evolving cybersecurity laws and guidance; advise on impact to operations and risk practices.
• Support crisis-management activities and regulatory engagement during significant events.
• Draft, review, and maintain cybersecurity, incident-response, and governance documents and playbooks.
• Advise the Bank’s Red Team on testing, threat emulation, and risk guidance.
• Review third-party vendor contracts and open-source licensing in technology contexts.
• Collaborate with business and control functions to identify legal risks and implement business-aligned solutions.
