Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join its Security Team in protecting software systems used by utilities. You will work at the intersection of cybersecurity and DevSecOps, embedding security into the development lifecycle and applying threat detection, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices within cloud-native environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; 6+ years of cybersecurity experience preferred.
Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties.

Responsibilities

Conduct advanced security monitoring and develop custom detection rules.
Lead incident response for complex events, including forensics and root cause analysis.
Design and execute vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and simulated attacks.
Remediate vulnerabilities with IT and software development teams within the SDLC.
Review security controls for regulatory compliance and lead remediation efforts.
Research advanced threat actors to develop threat intelligence and defense strategies.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team capability development.
Support enterprise security strategies aligned with business objectives.
