Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal - Cybersecurity Audit, Risk & Governance Architect to lead AI governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance for enterprise and public sector products. You will design risk-informed controls, coordinate audits, and advise product and engineering leadership on security by design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience in Information Security Risk Management, IT Audit, or GRC.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating AI/ML risk, LLMs, data pipeline security, or AI vendor tools.
• Proven track record leading SOC 2 Type II audits, ISO 27001, or regulatory compliance programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise AI Risk Management Framework aligned with NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and emerging regulations.
• Lead end-to-end audits (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001) and manage evidence collection and auditor relationships.
• Evaluate third-party SaaS vendors and AI model providers for security posture and data usage.
• Perform security risk assessments and threat modeling for AI/ML initiatives and LLM integrations.
• Advise Product, Engineering, and Business leaders on Security & Privacy by Design in roadmaps.
• Establish metrics and dashboards for executive risk committee on compliance and AI risk.
