Job summary

CNF Technologies seeks a Senior Software Engineer/Developer in San Antonio to design, build, and field advanced cyber tools for Windows environments. This role emphasizes offensive, defensive, and C2 capabilities, requiring deep knowledge of C/C++, Windows internals, and secure coding practices.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor junior developers, and stay ahead of evolving threats while delivering mission-critical software and tools at scale.

Qualifications

• Four years of recent system/software engineering experience with strong software architecture knowledge.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, testing and delivering cyber capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical data into actionable requirements.
• Experience with C, Win32 API, and Windows/Linux internals; comfortable with scripting and tool development.
• Experience with C# or PowerShell and deep understanding of C.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced cyber tools for Windows environments across offensive, defensive and C2 contexts.
• Engineer low-level Windows components (drivers, DLLs, services) to support deployment and stealth.
• Reverse-engineer Windows internals and third-party software to identify vulnerabilities or enhance tools.
• Develop capabilities in C/C++, Rust, or Assembly for performance and control in Windows environments.
• Integrate tools with C2 frameworks, ensuring secure communications and reliability.
• Lead detection-resistant payload and implant framework development tailored to missions.
• Collaborate with red/blue teams to validate tool effectiveness and evasion against modern defenses.
• Provide mentorship and enforce secure coding practices; stay current on cyber threats and OS updates.
