Cooley LLP is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join its Security team in San Francisco. The role emphasizes service orientation and proactive protection of firm assets through monitoring, configuration, and incident response.

The engineer will implement and manage security systems, work with TAM vendors, and contribute to risk reviews across products. The position requires 5+ years in info security and willingness to participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information security experience with responsibility and autonomy.
• Strong practical information security knowledge across technologies.
• Experience with AD, firewalls, EDR, SIEM, and cloud services.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, DLP, email gateways, and PAM.
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor security system reports, logs, and trends.
• Configure and maintain security products, firewalls, VPNs, PAM, DLP, EDR, SIEM.
• Engage in incident response and remediation under management direction.
• Troubleshoot cybersecurity problems and coordinate with vendors.
• Conduct risk reviews on products and provide security recommendations.
• Support security projects and technology initiatives.
• Monitor security metrics and system logs for anomalies.
• Assist in audits and implement security controls.
