Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Architect in Richmond, VA to establish and evolve MMS security architecture and guardrails across cloud, network, identity, and data protection. You will drive security outcomes, mentor teams, and align with CISO and senior leadership to enable speed and innovation.

The role requires 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in security architecture, hands-on experience with IAM, Zero Trust, and security automation, and a strong emphasis on policy-as-code

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security/assurance, MIS, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in security architecture.
• Experience designing guardrails and reference architectures at scale.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into secure designs and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve MMS security architecture reference patterns and guardrails across cloud, network, identity, endpoint, application, and data protection.
• Lead architecture reviews for key initiatives and document decisions and required controls.
• Translate policy, risk, and regulatory obligations into practical engineering requirements and runbooks.
• Define target-state security architectures and roadmaps; align with stakeholders.
• Embed security in delivery through DevSecOps and automation to reduce friction.
• Mentor architects and engineers; review deliverables for quality and consistency.
• Design cloud security patterns with IAM, encryption, logging, and posture management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
