Job summary

Chisago County Government is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to design, implement, and maintain security programs and policies across County IT systems. The role emphasizes protection of data, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration with DES Management.

The position requires substantial experience in information security management, strong project management and communication skills, and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff to enforce safeguarding

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Information Systems, with at least 2 years in cyber security administration or analyst roles.
• Requires completion of high school or equivalent; 2-year certificate in computer science or cyber security, plus 4 years experience or 7 years related work experience in network security.
• Knowledge of information security management, laws/regulations, and professional standards; strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Protect systems and data from unauthorized access or destruction.
• Evaluate security needs with users and draft appropriate procedures.
• Monitor logs, alerts, and suspicious activity; analyze incidents and triage IOC.
• Coordinate security risk assessments and remediation actions.
• Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices to technical and non-technical staff.
• Support cross-agency collaboration to ensure regulatory compliance and information confidentiality.
