Job summary

MTSI seeks a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer in Huntsville to strengthen application security and DevSecOps across the SDLC for critical Missile Defense software. You will engage with Government leadership, industry partners, and cyber authors to ensure secure software delivery.

Responsibilities include SAST/DAST analysis, security automation in CI/CD, RMF POA&M tracking, and OSS/COTS/GOTS governance. A DoD clearance and missile defense experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM (CS, Cybersecurity, SWE, Systems Eng).
• 7+ years in missile defense or large defense programs.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and lead tasks in a team.
• Knowledge of secure coding frameworks (OWASP Top 10, NIST SP 800-218 SSDF).
• Experience with automated SAST/DAST or SCA tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and security test suites.
• Experience with RMF processes and POA&M tracking.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD Pipeline & tooling integration for security in pipelines.
• Monitor and triage SAST/DAST scans; assess CWEs/CVEs; determine risk.
• Manage scan exceptions and document remediation milestones.
• Oversee SWAP Portal assessments for software risk posture.
• Assess OSS/COTS/GOTS software per guidance.
• Conduct supply chain risk assessments for dependencies and OSS.
• Support ISSM/ISSO during RMF processes and risk acceptance.
• Collaborate to tailor NIST SP 800-53 controls and evidences.
• Monitor environments for continuous cybersecurity policy compliance.
• Review CDRLs and security reports for compliance.
• Liaise with Government and industry partners on security requirements.
• Educate developers on secure coding and architectural changes.
