Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southern NJ and Philadelphia is seeking a team-oriented associate to manage register duties, encourage Round-Up donations, and help stock and maintain the sales floor in a bustling store environment in New Jersey.

The role includes cross-training as a Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder, as well as learning opening/closing procedures and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.
• Process register transactions, handle money, count drawer, and request Round-Up donations.
• Aim for 40% Round-Up transaction average monthly.
• Stock and maintain sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
• Maintain clean, organized store and dressing rooms.
• Identify prices and use on-site manager for pricing guidance.
• Operate store systems, phones, and paging systems for announcements.

Job description

SPECIFIC DUTIESFollow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.Successfully process register transactions, handle money, count down a drawer, and ask every customer for a Round-Up donation. Must achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.Engages customers successfully using the following steps: a. Greet every customer 5 feet from you b. Focus on your customer c. Maintain a clean, neat, and organized store d. Walk, Talk, and Show e. Thank your customer for supporting our free job training and education initiatives f. Listen and respond appropriately to all customer concerns g. Engage customers at the register h. Effectively manage your register line i. Use good phone etiquette and answer within 3 rings j. Provide short, clear, timely announcements.Will receive cross-training as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder to promote individual employee growth and maintain company productivity.Train to complete opening and closing procedures as necessary.Must stock and maintain sales floor with newly processed merchandise.Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing of merchandise and organization of wares and furniture.Maintains sales floor by recovering sales floor and dressing rooms.Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site manager or supervisor.Ability to utilize systems, including phones and paging systems and make regularly scheduled announcements.Maintains interior and exterior of store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner (includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, etc.).Must maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times.
