Job summary

Generac Power Systems in East Peoria, IL, seeks a Senior Customer Quality Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, support quality improvement projects, and drive containment and resolution of customer issues.

You will lead internal audits, APQP/PPAP processes, manage supplier quality interfaces, and help deploy standard tools and lean improvements across manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 5 years of quality experience in manufacturing with large customer management.
• Experience using continuous improvement tool set.

Responsibilities

• Own customer account for all quality related topics.
• Drive urgency to customer issues to lead containment and resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Promote a continuous improvement environment by providing leadership to manufacturing, assembly and engineering teams.
• Develop internal processes to meet customer requirements.
• Lead resolution of warranty and quality issues.
• Analyze component failure rates and provide feedback to Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Engineering.
• Analyze data, identify trends and drive cross-functional A3 improvement projects.
• Direct internal product audits and nonconformance resolution.
• Support New Product Introduction and qualification of manufacturing via APQP.
• Conduct and manage audits of processes and quality systems (ISO, internal audits).
• Gather and analyze product data to lead improvement initiatives reducing defects.
