Job summary

Bloomberg Media is looking for an insightful, experienced writer to expand Bloomberg’s culture and lifestyle coverage. The ideal candidate will craft magazine‑style features and reported essays across Pursuits and Bloomberg Weekend, with a keen eye for stories at the intersection of culture, society and markets.

This role reports to the Managing Editor of Pursuits. You will manage multiple assignments and collaborate with beat reporters and editors to translate financial ideas into clear prose

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in digital/print journalism and an extensive track record of insightful, compelling, deeply reported magazine-style features on culture and lifestyle topics
• Boundless curiosity and ideas, and a keen eye for emerging consumer and lifestyle trends
• A broad network of sources across the region, and experience securing and executing high-profile and deeply personal interviews
• Interest in and understanding of global financial markets and how they interact with culture and society
• Experience writing for a global audience similar to Bloomberg’s
• Demonstrated skill in communicating ideas across platforms, including audio, video and TV
• A generous spirit and a willingness to share ideas, collaborate on projects, and support others’ work

Responsibilities

• Write exceptional and original narrative features and reported essays for Pursuits and Bloomberg Weekend
• Spot opportunities for great stories and ideas at the intersections of culture, society, consumer behavior and economics
• Manage multiple assignments at once in order to contribute to weekly and monthly online and print publication schedules
• Collaborate with beat reporters and editors to identify ideas, data and sources, and ensure that stories reflect Bloomberg’s expertise
• Integrate your reporting and ideas across Bloomberg media platforms, including video, audio, newsletters, TV and events
