Job summary

Rochester Regional Health’s Gouverneur Hospital is seeking a Registered CT Tech to coordinate CT procedures across daily shifts in the Medical Imaging department. The role includes mentoring CT staff and ensuring adherence to ARRT standards and NYS DOH licensure.

Evening, variable shifts, weekend rotation, and on-call duties are required. The Senior CT Technologist will liaise with radiologists and leadership to maintain high patient care standards and support general radiology workflow within

Qualifications

Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
New York State Department of Health licensure and ARRT CT registry.

Responsibilities

Provides daily coordination of the CT modality, ensures patient and provider needs are met and communication is maintained among staff, radiologists, providers, and patients.
Performs CT procedures using anatomy knowledge, positioning and radiographic techniques to minimize radiation dose.
Provides clinical instruction, mentoring, and assessment for all CT staff.
Under radiologist guidance, facilitates implementation of updated protocols to internal and external care areas and providers.
Follows safety standards (patient identification, education, consents, infection control) and uses radiation protection to minimize exposure.
Maintains QA/QC procedures for CT equipment, image quality, documentation and dose reporting and control.
Performs general radiographic procedures with correct techniques to minimize patient dose.
