Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from ARRT accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• Minimum 2 years related experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques/procedures

Responsibilities

• Greets patient by introducing self and verifying name and birthdate
• Explains procedure and answers questions to assure understanding
• Maintains professional communication with patients, families, physicians and staff
• Positions patient, scans and archives procedures according to protocol
• Administers contrast media as necessary and labels syringes per policy
• Verifies physician orders for accuracy and acts accordingly
• Utilizes radiation reducing techniques that do not compromise image quality
• Maintains PACS/RIS knowledge and ensures data integrity
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports department changes to improve workflow
• Adheres to HIPAA and patient safety requirements
