Job summary

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • ExecutesclinicalcompetenceinCT,inalllocations,acrossallpatienttypes.
  • Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Observes concepts of Image Wisely/Image Gently for dose reduction. Performs IV access and administers contrast according to facility policy. Supports invasive procedures performed under CT guidance. Technical point person to help the team with questions, decisions, and troubleshooting of workflow concerns.
  • Actively participates and takes a leadership role in departmental and organizational performanceimprovement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, quality, and safety to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
  • Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, positioning, and patient care skills. Provides CT services appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, complying with all radiation safety policies and procedures. Is competent in advanced protocols and processing such as, CT Colonoscopy, Invasive procedures and 3D reconstructions. Supports CT Technologists with CCTA, Perfusion, and other advanced CT exams
  • Leads clinical and ancillary staff in the CT Department and facilitates a productive workflow for efficient department operations. Maintains inventory of departmental supplies.
  • Oversees examination completion in RIS and PACS, processing, archiving, and making images available to the Radiologist for interpretation, maintaining department document standards within all electronic systems (RIS, PACS, EMR).
  • Always acts and communicates professionally, embodying the organization's SPIRIT values and fostering a respectful and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. Adheres to the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
  • Performs quality assurance activities. Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions and assures proper follow-up correction by repair services. Resolves clinical/non-clinical issues and escalates problems to the appropriate leadership.
  • Provides feedback on staff’s performance, trains and orients personnel in procedures, equipment, and information systems. Collaborates with department leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate budgetary functions, staff scheduling, capital equipment planning and educational activities. Delegates tasks as needed to members of the team. Actively participates in coaching/mentoring staff in all aspects of job performance.
  • Works with various service lines in a multidisciplinary manner to resolve concerns, develop programs, and deliver the best care possible to our patients and providers.
  • Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards, complying with federal, state, societal and accreditation regulations.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate degree required; or
  • Certificate in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) required.
Experience
  • 3-4+ years of CT experiencerequired;or
  • Successful completion of a CT certificate or cross-training program preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography [ARRT(R)] and Computed Tomography [ARRT(CT)]required;or
  • Registered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in Computed Tomography [NMTCB(CT)]required;or
  • 10 years of CT scanning experience (applicable only to internal candidates employed prior to July 1, 2026)required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationrequiredupon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Basic computer skillspreferred.

This position has a hiring range of USD $42.82 - USD $71.16 /Hr.
