Job summary

The Lead Certified Surgical Technologist at Ohio State University Health System works within the Labor & Delivery team, managing instruments, supplies and equipment and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures. The role emphasizes sterile technique, teamwork and cost-conscious care.

Candidates must have CST or TS-C certification, complete a surgical technology program, and possess at least 2 years of surgical technology experience; CST preceptor is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a surgical technology training program.
• Must hold CST or TS-C certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience; CST preceptor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures in the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and maintain sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Serve as a department clinical resource and support the surgical team.
• Contribute to reducing hospitalization length and costs through quality patient care.
