Senior Cryptographic Systems Engineer | Crypto & Secure Communications | Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly Required
Are you a highly specialized Cryptographic Systems Engineer with deep, hands‑on expertise in crypto devices and a passion for securing mission‑critical communications infrastructure? We are looking for a technically elite, collaborative professional ready to serve as a subject matter expert on one of the most sensitive and high‑impact programs in the intelligence community.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Senior Cryptographic Systems Engineer, you will serve as the go‑to technical authority for the design, implementation, operation, and sustainment of complex cryptographic systems built on General Dynamics crypto devices. You will troubleshoot advanced technical issues across a diverse suite of crypto hardware and software, develop and deliver training documentation, and provide expert guidance to engineers, technicians, and non‑technical stakeholders alike. From configuring next‑generation crypto devices and managing GEM crypto manager software to collaborating across cross‑functional teams on complex integration challenges, your expertise will be foundational to the security and reliability of mission‑critical encrypted communications.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications:
- Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly) required — candidates without an active clearance will not be considered
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
- Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in cryptographic systems engineering, with deep specialization in General Dynamics crypto devices
Required Technical Skills:
- General Dynamics Crypto Devices: In‑depth, hands‑on expertise with the full suite of General Dynamics crypto devices including the E‑100, FLEX, Micro, Nano, TL‑10G, TL‑1G, and next‑generation devices — encompassing configuration, operation, and maintenance across complex environments
- Cryptographic Systems Design & Implementation: Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex cryptographic systems in operational or government environments
- Cryptographic Principles & Standards: Deep technical knowledge of cryptographic protocols and standards, including encryption, decryption, and key management processes and best practices
- GEM Crypto Manager Software: Hands‑on experience operating and managing GEM crypto manager software in support of cryptographic infrastructure
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to General Dynamics crypto devices, developing effective, mission‑safe solutions under operational pressure
- Training & Technical Guidance: Experience developing written training documentation and actively training personnel — communicating complex cryptographic concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively alongside engineers, technicians, and diverse stakeholders to achieve program goals and integration objectives
NICE TO HAVE
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sponsor Network Familiarity: Experience with Sponsor networks and devices, including both new and legacy systems, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability support
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud computing environments including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud as they relate to cryptographic and secure infrastructure deployments
- DevOps Practices: Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices in support of secure, iterative development and deployment workflows
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile project management frameworks in collaborative, team‑based program environments
- Matrix Environment Navigation: Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in matrix environments — managing competing priorities, multiple stakeholders, and complex timelines simultaneously
- Advanced Communication Skills: Track record of conveying complex technical information clearly and effectively to varied audiences, from field technicians to senior program leadership
