Job summary

KBR is seeking an experienced Enterprise Crypto Security Engineer to join our National Security Solutions team in El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO. The role focuses on spacecraft and ground cryptographic units, encryption hardware, and secure architectures to protect national security missions.

You will lead trade studies, supervise crypto lifecycle tasks, mentor engineers, and coordinate with government customers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years in systems engineering including crypto and cyber security.
• 7+ years in crypto, NSA certification processes, and Key Management.
• 5+ years in DoD/IC space and ground projects.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication; deliverables authoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead trade studies for spacecraft cryptographic units with data-driven recommendations.
• Oversee design, interfaces, and delivery of encryption units across space and ground.
• Manage crypto lifecycle, scope, priorities, and program integration.
• Support testing: dry runs, SVTs, TRRs, test plans and reports.
• Collaborate with government customers, contractors, and partners.
• Mentor junior to mid-level engineers and conduct technical reviews.
