Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Security Technologies crypto team in the United States. You will design, develop, test, and collaborate on cryptographic back-end components such as OpenSSL, GnuTLS, and NSS, and work on protocols like TLS, SSH and IPsec.

A special focus will be the integration of smart cards within the operating system. You will lead feature work for smart card drivers in OpenSC, mentor engineers, and contribute to open source projects while collaborating

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a primary focus on cryptography.
Proficiency in C and Rust; professional or academic experience required.
Knowledge of Linux operating system and development tools.
Background in security engineering or cryptography.
Familiarity with TLS/SSL, IPSec/IKE or SSH protocols.
Experience with crypto libraries such as OpenSSL, GnuTLS or NSS.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of software solutions for a Smart Cards subsystem and own code quality.
Participate in the full development cycle from requirements to testing.
Design and implement new features in cryptographic back-ends.
Improve crypto libraries API to reduce misuse.
Contribute to Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux development.
Mentor and coach other engineers and document designs clearly.
