Subcritical Systems, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Systems to design, test, and deploy large cryogenic pressure systems for superconducting accelerator hardware.

You will focus on pressure, leak, and fluid systems within ATLAS-enabled workflows, under close engineering oversight. The ideal candidate has a Master’s in mechanical engineering, 7+ years of related experience or 15+ years, and hands-on cryomodule experience.

Formación

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent; PE certification desired.
• 7+ years of relevant experience or 15+ years
• Hands-on experience building, testing, assembling and designing cryomodules.
• Strong expertise in pressure systems and leak testing with hands-on leakage and pressure testing.
• Knowledge of ASME BPVC, ANSI standards, and US cryogenic pressure systems requirements.
• Experience with nondestructive testing and helium leak testing techniques.
• Ability to perform engineering analysis, modelling, simulation, and interpretation of test data.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support design, development, and deployment of cryogenic pressure/test systems for superconducting accelerator hardware.
• Develop and execute analyses to verify functionality, performance, and safety of cryogenic pressure systems.
• Support hazard analyses, safety reviews, and test readiness reviews; ensure ATLAS outputs meet safety standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve design/analytical issues.
• Use engineering tools to evaluate system behavior, predict performance, and validate designs including ATLAS concepts.
• Contribute to reviews, data analysis, and comprehensive test reports and documentation.
• Maintain safety practices and promote safe work culture.
