Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Senior Critical Facilities Lead to own the power and cooling infrastructure for a new hyperscale AI data center. You will serve as the on-site SME, build the facilities team, and shape operations from day one.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and openness to working on-site in Indiana or Louisiana. Competitive base salary with equity and relocation support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center critical facilities operations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling).
• Experience with liquid cooling, commissioning, or new site builds is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Own power and cooling infrastructure as SME for MEP systems and liquid cooling environments.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for technical issues.
• Build and mentor the facilities team (4 senior/lead technicians to start).
• Oversee site commissioning, operational readiness, and develop standards and processes from the ground up.

Our client is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company focused on hyperscale GPU and data center deployments. Backed by a multi-billion-dollar valuation and doubling its headcount, the company is building new owned-and-operated hyperscale facilities across the U.S.

The role

This is a hands-on, highly technical role with ownership of the site’s power and cooling infrastructure. You’ll be the go-to expert on‑site, help build the facilities team from the ground up, and shape how a brand-new hyperscale facility runs.

What You’ll Own

• Power and cooling infrastructure, as the SME for MEP systems and liquid cooling environments
• Tier 3 escalation point for technical issues
• Building and mentoring the facilities team (4 senior/lead technicians to start)
• Site commissioning, operational readiness, and standards and processes from the ground up

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in data center critical facilities operations
• Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling)
• Experience with liquid cooling, commissioning, or new site builds is a big plus
• Strong communication skills and a hands‑on, ownership mindset
• Open to working on‑site in Indiana or Louisiana
