As a Senior Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our Datacenters operational. Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers/vendors, working with management on operational, risk, and safety issues, mentoring technicians, performing maintenance, responding to incidents, and monitoring equipment performance using telemetry platforms.

Responsibilities

1. Datacenter Operations: Provide guidance on installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning data center technology; ensure safety and process compliance; assist with tickets and work allocation.
2. Service Delivery: Develop task execution strategies, perform hardware setup and shutdown, conduct quality assessments, troubleshoot issues, and execute infrastructure changes following standard procedures.
3. Managing Service: Escalate client issues, monitor KPIs, support cross-functional processes, complete training, and mentor peers.
4. Data Center Environment: Conduct safety briefings, ensure compliance with safety and security procedures, promote safety culture, and support team collaboration.
5. Physical Requirements: Ladders, stairs, standing, lifting, and visual acuity requirements are specified for US roles.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or equivalent + 3+ years in mission-critical environments; or equivalent experience. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard hours. Security clearance requirements apply.

Preferred: 5+ years in relevant environments, associate’s degree or technical trade certification, or equivalent experience.
