Requires graduation from an RT program, RRT credential, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and 0–2 years clinical

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with a minimum of 20 science quarter hours.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist and valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and related specialties.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, teamwork, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care, documentation, and education within a team-oriented environment.
• Perform assessments, verify orders, administer therapies, and manage ventilators, including weaning and airway management.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis and assist in invasive/non-invasive procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Mentor and educate patients, new employees, students, and peers.
• Promote safety, quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practices, and accurate electronic documentation.
