Patenaude & Felix, APC is seeking a full-time attorney to join our growing litigation team. The role focuses on creditors' rights and civil litigation with responsibility for managing a caseload, developing strategies, working directly with clients, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifikationen

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of banking and creditors' rights litigation process.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Experience appearing in court and handling litigation matters independently.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
• Experience with legal case management systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Occasional travel for court appearances and firm matters.

Aufgaben

• Independently manage a caseload involving creditors' rights and civil litigation in state and federal courts.
• Develop and implement litigation and collection strategies based on case facts, law, and client objectives.
• Draft, review, and oversee pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, depositions, and related matters.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Review case files to identify issues, risks, and next steps.
• Manage cases throughout the litigation lifecycle ensuring compliance with laws and deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and others about case status.
• Provide guidance to junior attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
• Review work product and develop best practices for quality and efficiency.
• Monitor caseload performance, deadlines, and calendaring.
• Identify risks and escalate high-risk matters when appropriate.
• Collaborate with leadership and departments to support client objectives.
• Stay current on creditors' rights and procedural developments.
• Participate in client meetings and firm initiatives.
