Job summary

New Edge Associates is seeking an experienced Credit Underwriting Leader to oversee a team of underwriters and credit analysts. You will supervise underwriting across CRE, C&I, SBA, asset-based and specialty lending in a community banking setting.

You will ensure compliance with credit policy, regulatory requirements, and risk standards, while presenting complex credit relationships to executive leadership and committees.

• Leads and manages the Credit Underwriting team.
• Oversees underwriting for multiple commercial lending products.
• Ensures compliance with credit policy and regulatory requirements.
• Presents complex credit relationships to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Credit Underwriting team, including seniors and analysts.
• Oversee underwriting for CRE, C&I, SBA, asset-based, construction and other lending.
• Review, structure and approve loan requests within delegated authority.
• Present complex credits to Loan Committee and Directors.
• Ensure adherence to policy, standards, and regulatory exams.
• Assist CCO with credit policy development and maintenance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and credit administration practices.
• Mentor staff and develop credit culture across the team.
• Guide Relationship Managers on credit structuring and risk analysis.
• Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and staff development.
• Serve as liaison during regulatory examinations and audits.
