Job summary

Hyperquake seeks a Senior Creative Technologist to lead the technical execution of immersive, interactive experiences across enterprise, public, and cultural spaces. You will contribute to architecture, hardware specs, and deployment for complex installations, while mentoring junior technologists and collaborating with Design, Production, Fabrication, and AV teams.

The role requires hands-on development across Unity, Unreal, TouchDesigner, and web technologies, with a focus on end-to-end

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in software-based creative technology with a portfolio of immersive, interactive, large-scale work.
• Strong production experience in at least two: Unity, Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, or Web (Three.js/WebGL).
• Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript and a framework such as React) for UI within experiences and CMS platforms.
• Diverse portfolio showing hands-on delivery of interactive experiences with sensor input, data visualization, and real-time graphics.
• Experience mentoring junior technologists.
• Comfort collaborating with external contractors, fabricators, and AV vendors on physical installations.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or JavaScript.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, interactive media, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead builder on assigned interactive projects, delivering high-quality technical work.
• Build and integrate on-screen user interfaces using web stacks (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React).
• Work with CMS platforms to drive, update and manage experience content.
• Contribute to technical decisions on system architecture, hardware specs, and deployment for multi-sensor installations.
• Own technical delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget shipping and high quality.
• Contribute to estimates, specs, and feasibility assessments.
• Identify and flag technical risks in interactive installations.
• Mentor junior Creative Technologists and interns.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, Fabrication, AV Integration, and Client teams.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical teammates and clients.
• Travel to client sites for installation, integration, calibration, and QC.
• Explore emerging technologies including AI and agent-driven workflows.
