Job description

McJ is looking for a senior creative resource manager who will be the strategic lynchpin connecting our creative, brand and talent teams. You're a proactive problem-solver with an exceptional ability to optimize talent deployment, ensuring the right people are on the right projects. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to our creative teams and chief creative officer, empowering them to deliver their best work.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Planning & Utilization

Monitor and manage team utilization against targets; address over/underutilization with leaders.

Forecast and assess upcoming resource demand by reviewing opportunity pipelines.

Recommend staffing based on skillset, availability, professional growth and budget.

Balance workloads, shift resources as needed, and escalate sensitive staffing issues.

Track and validate resourcing requirements, including freelance and external talent.

Talent & Relationship Management

Build strong relationships with creative talent to understand strengths and aspirations.

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and department heads for staffing decisions.

Lead weekly resourcing meetings to address allocation, project timing and conflicts.

Serve as the main point of contact for conflict resolution related to staffing.

Partner with Recruitment to help determine when freelance talent is needed and support the onboarding process for freelance and full-time creative talent.

Communication & Reporting

Collaborate with the brand team, ops lead and department leads to update internal resourcing platforms and tools.

Alert teams to resourcing issues that may impact deliverables or budgets.

Ensure accurate administrative data for systems that track supply and demand.

What You Bring

7+ years in creative resource management or operations within advertising, marketing or digital agencies.

Proven success managing staffing across disciplines such as design, copy, art direction and production.

Strong strategic thinking, prioritization and conflict resolution abilities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all seniority levels.

Deep understanding of the creative process and agency workflows.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace; tools like Hive or Workamajig are a plus.

Comfortable in fast-paced, change-heavy environments with multiple priorities.
