Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for its $55B+ Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business in Richmond/McLean. You will partner with Relationship Managers, Underwriters, and Credit Officers to steer how credit risk analysis is conducted as market dynamics evolve and affect borrower health.

You will translate complex data into strategic actions, build risk models, and drive cross-functional initiatives across Capital One’s CRE teams.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (or MBA with quantitative concentration) expected by start date.
MBA with quantitative focus or Master's in a quantitative field is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Identify business challenges and opportunities and make strategic or tactical recommendations.
Support credit risk improvements by linking drivers to historical behavior and building risk models.
Develop hypotheses, test analyses, and lead solution implementation with feasibility assessments.
Collaborate with underwriting, credit, product, and tech teams to drive improvements.
Apply rigorous analytics to drive decision making and translate complex problems into actionable outcomes.
Exercise strong business judgment and effective communication to influence decisions.
Maintain a results-oriented approach in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
