Job summary

Ballard Marine Construction LLC in Baltimore, MD is looking for an experienced crane operator to join our team. This role involves operating various cranes safely and effectively while coordinating with site teams to manage load movements.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of crane operation experience and necessary certifications. We offer competitive pay rates ranging from $35 to $55 per hour and a strong benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K with employer match.

Qualifications

• Five years of verifiable experience operating cranes.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Heavy Civil/Marine Projects.
• Previous experience leading crews is strongly preferred.
• Must have prior experience in rigging and signaling.
• Additional equipment operation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and productive crane including routine maintenance.
• Inspect work sites to ensure safety of workers.
• Support structures operations like setting steel and concrete girders.
• Check radius and setup of crane before operations begin.
• Provide input on lift plans and methods.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of crane and rigging.

Skills

Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner

Able to read and understand heavy construction plans

Able to work in a team environment

Works well in a high demand environment

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards

Ability to obtain certification to operate computerized mobile cranes

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Tools

NCCCO Certification or equivalent training
