Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on friction crane experience.
• 5+ years hydraulic crane experience.
• Master-level troubleshooting proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to vessels or job sites.
• Residence within local commuting area.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on heavy lift cranes.
• Overhaul friction and hydraulic crane components (engines, winches, clutches, gearboxes, swing drives, booms).
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
• Interpret manuals, load charts, schematics, and OEM docs for troubleshooting and compliance.
• Maintain detailed service records per regulations (USCG, OSHA, API).
• Mentor junior mechanics and apprentices; provide hands-on training.
