Job summary

Google is seeking a senior CPU architecture professional to help shape the next generation of ARM-based CPU designs. You will plan architecture features, build performance models, and work closely with design and verification teams to deliver efficient CPU implementations.

Your work will involve defining subsystem specifications and driving performance correlations between models and RTL pre- and post-silicon, contributing to high-performance silicon for Googe products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience with micro-processor architecture, micro-architecture, performance, and design.
  • Experience with performance modeling, correlation, workload characterization, and CPU architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and evaluate ARM architecture features from architecture and performance perspectives.
  • Develop a performance model for analysis and microarchitecture studies.
  • Lead collaboration with design and verification teams to develop efficient CPU implementation.
  • Define and write CPU subsystem architecture specifications.
  • Drive performance correlation between the model and RTL implementation, including micro-benchmark development and pre-/post-silicon performance triage.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with micro-processor architecture, micro-architecture, performance, and design.
  • Experience with performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization and experience with CPU architecture (e.g., CPU block).
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in CPU micro-architecture exploration and development.
  • Knowledge of processor instruction set architecture (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86).
  • Knowledge of system software components, such as Linux, drivers, and runtime.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
