Job summary

Google LLC in Austin, TX is hiring a senior staff engineer to push the boundaries of CPU microarchitecture. You will develop innovative microarchitectural features to substantially enhance CPU performance and model complex core concepts for production-ready designs.

You'll document CPU subsystem specifications, collaborate with RTL, physical design, and verification teams, and drive performance correlation between models and RTL while guiding pre- and post-silicon performance triage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of CPU microarchitecture design and performance modeling experience.
• Experience with software performance analysis and high-performance architectures (CPU, memory subsystems).
• Experience in performance modeling, workload characterization, or PPA optimization.
• Experience in C/C++ or other scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative microarchitectural features to enhance CPU performance.
• Model core microarchitectural concepts and evaluate PPA trade-offs for production-ready designs.
• Define and document CPU subsystem specifications.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with RTL, physical design, and verification teams.
• Drive performance correlation between models and RTL and triage performance issues pre- and post-silicon.
