Job summary

Intel in Hillsboro, Oregon seeks a Senior CPU Architecture and Benchmarking Engineer to drive low-level investigations of CPU designs and craft microbenchmarks that reveal microarchitectural behavior. You will bridge silicon measurement, software behavior, and architecture while shaping Intel's future roadmaps.

You will collaborate across silicon labs, simulation, and software teams to translate benchmarking insights into concrete architectural guidance and scalable tooling.

Qualifications

• Degree in EE/CE/CS or related field with relevant industry experience.
• Experience designing and interpreting low-level microbenchmarks.
• Proficiency in assembly and performance analysis tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and analyze microbenchmarks to explore microarchitectural behavior.
• Investigate and document microarchitectural details through benchmarking and analysis.
• Evaluate OS, compilers, and firmware impact on CPU performance and power efficiency.
• Identify power/performance gaps and propose architectural solutions.
• Collaborate with silicon lab, simulation, backend, and RTL teams to correlate findings.
• Develop tooling and frameworks to support benchmarking workflows.
• Communicate findings in reports and presentations to senior teams.
