Job summary

The Court Services Division of the Administrative Offices of the Court seeks a Financial Specialist VI to join our team in Arizona. The role focuses on evaluating accounting and cash handling practices across limited jurisdiction courts to ensure MAS compliance.

You will conduct on-site reviews, collect data, and draft reports with improvement recommendations. Responsibilities include monitoring treasurer reports, resolving issues with courts and treasurers, and providing statewide training on

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or related degree with five years’ accounting/financial management or case management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management practices and accounting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (interaction with judges, staff and the public).
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site reviews of accounting and cash handling practices to ensure MAS compliance.
  • Collect data, interview staff, reconcile financial records, and draft deficiency reports with improvement recommendations.
  • Work with courts to implement correct financial controls and provide on-site training and technical assistance.
  • Monitor state treasurer reports and assist in resolving issues with courts/treasurers; develop statewide training on financial management practices.
  • Travel up to 25% and support IT staff with court financial questions.
  • Participate in remote/onsite work arrangements after initial period as eligible.
