Job summary

Van Drunen Farms/FutureCeuticals is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Chicago team. The role supports contracting, regulatory compliance, and business initiatives across a 1,000+ employee company, collaborating with senior attorneys.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a JD, at least two years in a law firm, Illinois bar admission, and exposure to FDA regulations. Hybrid schedule with onsite time in Chicago Loop.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a law firm environment.
• Membership in good standing with the Illinois bar and admission to practice.
• Exposure to FDA regulations, regulatory compliance, food, dietary supplement, or related industry work is preferred, but not required for the role.
• Strong judgment, organization, discretion, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior attorneys on legal operations, department support, trademark matters, international regulatory responses, and business initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical analysis to help internal stakeholders identify risks, opportunities, and next steps.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts while supporting the administration of the company's contract management system.
• Provide legal support for regulatory compliance matters, including FDA requirements related to labeling, claims, marketing materials, and product portfolio support.
