Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a regulatory counsel to advise on global laws and regulations. The role involves leading compliance strategies and providing legal analyses of regulatory drafts to support our Public Policy and Compliance teams.

You will also engage with regulators and respond to inquiries and investigations. Ideally, you have 8+ years in regulatory compliance as an attorney, with comfort navigating fast-paced, multi‑stakeholder environments in the tech and gaming space.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with at least 8 years of regulatory compliance experience.
• Experience handling regulatory enforcement actions.
• Tech industry knowledge or familiarity with videogames is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a multi‑stakeholder environment and make sound judgments in ambiguity.
• Proactive, independent, and reliable under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration across teams.

Epic's multi-specialized team of attorneys and legal professionals partner across our organization to provide legal solutions as well as consult and inform on the products we build and games we develop.

What You’ll Do

Epic’s regulatory team advises the company on newly enacted laws and regulations around the world as well as works alongside our Public Policy Team to monitor regulatory developments. Partnering closely with our subject matter experts, Product Counsel and Compliance Team, you will manage the design of compliance programs and educate counsel regarding regulatory requirements. You will also assist with the company’s response to regulatory investigations and requests for information from regulators.

In this role, you will

• Advise Epic senior management, Product Counsel, the Compliance Team and Legal leadership on key global laws and regulations, including online safety frameworks

• Lead multi-stakeholder regulatory compliance strategies

• Provide legal analysis of legislative and regulatory drafts to the Public Policy team

• Support advocacy and engagement with regulators and trade associations

• Respond to global regulatory inquiries and investigations

What we’re looking for

• A qualified attorney with at least 8 years of experience working in regulatory compliance, either within a regulatory body, in-house or at a law firm

• Experience handling regulatory enforcement actions brought by regulatory bodies

• Prior work and/or substantial knowledge of the tech industry; A good working knowledge of tech or videogames is an advantage

• An individual who is comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, driving high-risk/impact projects, and working and making sound judgments and decisions in ambiguous situations where clear guidance is lacking or may not exist

• Must be able to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of individuals and teams
