Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to act as a strategic legal partner for the Industrial Water business, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives. You will support new business development and existing operations, negotiating complex contracts and advising across the deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities include reviewing NDAs, MOUs, LOIs, bid and RFP responses, and drafting amendments while managing a mix of third-party and Veolia-proposed agreements.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar license in good standing required.
• 10+ years of legal experience in commercial contracts or related fields.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating O&M, EPC and similar contracts.
• Excellent written and oral communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate, and advise on NDAs, MOUs, and LOIs for new opportunities.
• Provide legal counsel on bid and RFP responses.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on service and delivery contracts including O&M, DBOM, DBFOM, and EPC.
• Manage contract portfolio with Veolia-proposed and third-party agreements.
• Assess risk across litigation, reputational, and deal-structure factors.
• Draft and negotiate amendments with focus on scope, pricing, and term extensions.
• Lead amendments drafting while handling customer revisions and alternative forms.
• Advise on disputes, claims, and contract terminations; support outside counsel relationships.
• Collaborate with the Industrial Water COO and cross-functional teams to align legal and operational priorities.
• Maintain a centralized contract repository and conduct reviews of underperforming contracts with remediation in mind.
