Job summary

Covista, America's leading healthcare educator, seeks a Sr. Corporate Counsel for Higher Education to advise on legal, regulatory, academic, student and operational matters across its Title IV institutions and corporate functions.

Reporting to the Senior Associate General Counsel, this role collaborates with institutional leaders to provide practical guidance, negotiate complex agreements, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications

• J. D. from an accredited law school is required.
• 10+ years as a practicing attorney with substantive experience in education is required.
• Experience with U.S. Department of Education OCR, state human rights departments and higher education accreditors and regulators is required.
• Experience negotiating partnership agreements and/or clinical affiliation agreements is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic legal counsel on day-to-day administrative, academic, operational and strategic matters for Covista’s Title IV higher education institutions.
• Advises institutional departments (student affairs, deans, registrar) with legal research, writing and guidance on higher education matters.
• Interprets and applies higher education laws and regulations to Covista’s institutions and business functions.
• Negotiates, drafts and advises on domestic and international partnership agreements and clinical affiliation agreements.
